A quote over the phone is only as good as what you can tell us, and some things you just can't see from inside the house. If you know the door's age, that helps a lot - most homes in this area went up between 1963 and 2004, with a lot of that stock dating to the early 1980s, so we can usually guess the hardware family before we arrive. Tell us the brand if it's on the motor unit, whether the door is single or double, and what it's doing wrong: won't open, opens partway, makes a bang, sags on one side. A broken torsion spring on a double door is a different job and a different price than a bent track on a single, and we won't pretend otherwise on the phone.
What we can't price sight unseen: anything involving a bent or rusted track, a door that's been painted or modified from stock, or an opener that's been rewired by someone other than the manufacturer. If your springs, cables, and drums don't match - which happens more than you'd think on doors from the 1980s and 90s - that's also a look-first, quote-second situation. We'd rather tell you that up front than give you a number we have to walk back.

The door's approximate age, whether it's single or double, the brand of opener if visible, and a description of the problem - won't open, stuck partway, grinding noise, sagging. A photo helps more than a description if you can send one.
